This article describes how to report a security incident.

What is a Security Incident?

A security incident is any attempted or actual unauthorized access, use, disclosure, modification, or destruction of information. It is an occurrence that actually or potentially jeopardizes the security, confidentiality, integrity, or availability of an information system or the information the system processes, stores, or transmits or that constitutes a violation or imminent threat of violation of security policies, security procedures, or acceptable use policies.

How to Report a Security Incident?

Information to include in the report:

  • Your name

  • Organization

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Incident details:

    • The name of the product the incident is referring to

    • Description of the information security problem

    • Date and time the problem was first noticed (if possible)

    • Any other known resources affected
